Famous Nairs of Kerala

Nair is the name of a Hindu Caste in the State of Kerala, India. Nairs are a warrior class, notable for their courage and martial abilities. Nairs are an integral part of Kerala's culture, having a long and illustrious history. They are one of the largest and most important section of the Kerala society. Many famous yogis, thinkers, social revolutionaries, writers, artists, administrators, bureaucrats and diplomats were born in the Nair community. Nair caste consists of many subdivisions, most of which are derived from titles attributed by Kings and Lords. This includes Menon, Kaimal, Unnithan, Panicker, Kurup, Pillai, Nayanar, Thampi, Kartha etc.
